Danny Jones
Danny Jones began his career in the early 1980s working at WGRG (now WDDK) radio in Greensboro, Georgia when he was in high school and college. During this time, he launched a promotions/booking company. He was hired as promotions director for Eddie Crook's Harvest Records in the early 1990s and then was promoted to A & R Director for Crook's MorningStar Records where artists at the time included the Bishops, Isaacs, Wilburns, Perrys, and Carroll Roberson. During the early 1990s, Jones also hosted a Saturday morning program on WENO in Nashville, Tennessee.
In early 1995, Jones left the Eddie Crook Company. He subsequently went to work for Crossroads Music (home of Horizon Records) which had just relocated to Asheville, North Carolina. In August of that same year, he got the call from Singing News magazine editor Jerry Kirksey to join their team in Boone, North Carolina.
Following Kirksey's retirement, Jones was promoted to the position of Editor and later was named Publisher while the magazine was owned by Salem Communications. In 2021, when Singing News was purchased by Sea Walker Media Corporation, Jones' title was changed to Vice-President.
Jones has frequently appeared as an emcee at concert events, co-hosted the Gospel Music USA television show with Karen Peck Gooch and Mike LeFevre, and was a co-founder of the Memphis Quartet Show. The fact that his monthly article in Singing News appears on the 4th page inspired the name for his "4th Page Podcast" as well as a weekend radio show on Singing News Radio called "4th Page Playlist."
Jones is the author of several books and the co-writer of several songs.
