Mike LeFevre (September 17, 1961 - )

Biography

Mike LeFevre began singing with Uncle Alf And The LeFevres at the age of 15. His desire to sing was so great that he attended summer school and gained enough credits to earn his high school diploma at the age of 16. After singing with Uncle Alf for a few years, he formed a group with Brian Free. The group was short-lived, because Free got the call to join Gold City in 1982.

LeFevre filled in at baritone for the Singing Americans after Ed Hill was injured in a bus accident. Once Hill was able to rejoin the group, LeFevre continued to travel with them. He was typically featured on a song or two at each concert.

In late 1985, he joined Gold City as baritone singer and remained there until 1992. During his tenure with Gold City, he won three Singing News Fan Awards as favorite baritone.

In 1993, LeFevre reunited with Brian Free when Free formed Brian Free And Assurance. He remained with them until 1997.

In 2005, LeFevre started his own group, the LeFevre Quartet.

In addition to singing, LeFevre had a second career as a firefighter.
