Conrad Cook (May 28, 1936 - June 29, 2004)
Biography
Conrad Cook performed with West Virginia's Calvarymen Quartet during the 1960s. During his time with the group, Squire Parsons was also a member before moving on to join the Kingsmen Quartet. Cook's song "Glory Road" and Parsons "Look For Me At Jesus' Feet" were introduced on the same album (On The Glory Road With The Calvarymen Quartet).
Cook later fronted his own group billed as Conrad Cook & The Calvary Echoes. He continued writing songs including classics like "The Old Ship Of Zion" and "Saints Will Rise" which were both popularized by the Kingsmen Quartet. The Calvary Echoes also had a modest hit with "Moses Take Your Shoes Off" which became a highlight in the early years of the Gaither Gospel Series videos.
