Norman Gregory Holland (August 11, 1959 - March 10, 2014)

Biography

Norman Holland was a native of Geneva, Alabama. He began his career at Benson Music in 1980 where he influenced the careers of numerous Southern Gospel artists ultimately rising to the position of Artist & Repertoire Director for Benson's subsidiary Riversong Records label. In the mid-1990s, Holland moved to Chapel Records (later renamed Spring Hill) where he worked in a similar role as the A&R director. After leaving that position in the late 1990s, Holland worked at Daywind Records where he held the title of Vice President at the time of his death in 2014.

Although his role was primarily to guide the careers of as they selected music to record, send as singles to radio, etc., Holland also occasionally wrote songs. He was one of the co-writers for Brian Free & Assurance's early hit "Stand Up For What I Stand For."
