Southern Gospel Promoters Association

History

The Southern Gospel Promoters Association (SGPA) was formed in 1996. The [[S/Southern Gospel Music Guild[[ sponsored a special breakfast for concert promoters during the National Quartet Convention and twelve of the promoters who attended formed the SGPA. The organization's purpose is to foster better relationships between concert promoters, booking agents, and artists. A new logo for the SGPA was designed and put into use in 1998.

In 2008, the SGPA began presenting an annual Promoter Of The Year award.

Membership is limited to individuals who promote a minimum of two paid concerts per year, and agrees to honor and respect the SGPA's Code of Ethics.
