History
The Sentries were a southern gospel trio established in the 1980s and based in Portsmouth, Ohio. The group featured Dean Hickman, who had previously served as the tenor singer for the The Golden Keys Quartet during the 1960s. Following his time with The Sentries, Hickman went on to form the well-known group the The Guardians in 1988. Joining him in The Sentries were Greg Tingler and Harold Patrick, both of whom were formerly associated with the Gospel Harmony Boys, bringing a strong musical legacy and harmony to the trio’s sound.
