Randy Crawford

Also credited as J Randall Crawford.

Biography

Randy Crawford sang for the southern gospel group 70 x 7 from 1994-1996. He then sang lead for Brian Free And Assurance from 1997-1998. After Brian Free put the group on hold to pursue a solo career, he worked as a policeman in Lexington, Kentucky.

In 2001, he joined the Kingsmen Quartet to sing lead and was with the group as they temporarily took on the Carolina Boys name. After leaving the Kingsmen in 2003, Crawford was mostly off scene aside from singing for a while with the Toney Brothers. In 2009, he returned to Brian Free & Assurance but then made the move back to the Kingsmen in 2010. For the first year or so with the Kingsmen, he alternated between lead and baritone, then became the full-time baritone after Bob Sellers replaced Bryan Hutson. He remained in that role until 2018.

Crawford then worked in a church ministry. In 2024, he joined Real Truth Revival, stepping into the lead position after the unexpected passing of Phillip Hughes.
