Jay Stone Singers (1976-Present)

History

Jay Stone was already a gospel music veteran before forming his family group in October of 1976. The original lineup included Jay, his wife Mary, their children Jeff and Sharona, and a few close friends.

Tenor singer and bass guitarist Bobby Carter joined the group in June of 1984. Carter had sung with a group called Young & United when he was just 11 years old. He also played bass with The Pioneers, a group his father sang with, prior to joining the Jay Stone Singers. Carter and Sharona Stone were married in November of 1987.

Jay & Mary Stone retired In January 2010, leaving the group in the hands of Bobby and Sharona. Emma Elizabeth Carter, Bobby & Sharona's daughter, sings soprano. Stone Carter, Bobby & Sharona's son, sang with the group for several years. His final album with the group was Come Thirsty (2017).
