Jacob S. "Jake" Snyder (January 10, 1950 - August 15, 2016)

Biography

Jake Snyder was a native of Altoona, Pennsylvania. While enrolled at Penn State University, he joined the Vicksburg Quartet where he played keyboard initially, then sang baritone and lead. He was with the Vicksburg Quartet from 1969-1992. Snyder's primary career was in the Pennsylvania public school system where he taught music initially before ultimately becoming a high school principal. Snyder also served several churches as pastor and/or music director and operated North Recording Studio for 37 years.

In addition to the Vicksburg Quartet, Snyder performed with a contemporary group called Morning Light and also in a group with his brother billed as Snyder Brothers and Schaffer.
